Paul Longridge

Paul Longridge has been a Clinical Health Planner at Billard Leece Partnership (BLP) for over 10 years. With a background in clinical care and public hospital leadership, Paul provides uniquely valuable insight for architectural teams and clients during all phases of BLP’s health projects.
Prior to joining BLP, Paul worked in a client-side clinical advisory role for the $955m Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. At the completion of this project, Paul joined BLP to lead the clinical planning approach on highly complex hospital projects, such as the Perth Children’s Hospital ($1.2b), recently opened in 2019, and the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (AU$3b).
Throughout Paul’s 10+ years with BLP, he has had an ongoing relationship with the team at Orygen Youth Health, participating in the Business Case and Masterplanning phases of this significant project to improve mental health outcomes for Australia’s youth. At project inception, Paul ensured young people and staff members’ opinions, views and priorities underpinned the planning of the new facility. This human-centred approach is unique due to the level of consultation that took place prior to any design process. The design thinking methodology ensured feedback from young people was deeply embedded within the brief and design principles for the whole project. This level of engagement and consultation continued throughout the project and delivered highly positive outcomes.
